my experience & TRAINING
My journey in women’s health began when I was a CNS student in a medical college interning at an OB/GYN clinic in 1995. I supported women who were experiencing pregnancy complications, pregnancy loss and terminations. This laid the foundation for my clinical practice, which would grow to include terminal oncology, surgery, neurosurgery ICU, NICU, and OBGYN with Hacettepe University Hospitals.
Experience led me to understand the limits of what conventional medicine had to offer. I was in search of something more than just the relief of symptoms, especially for the pain management of terminal stage patients.
By that time, I had an academic background in Sinology. In 2000 I decided to explore the area of discipline where these fields met each other, and shifted my focus towards the holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I was guided by my fascination with TCM and acupuncture. A new chapter in my journey opened when I moved to China in 2006 with a scholarship to the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
It’s been my privilege to train counselling psychology certified by IPCF (HK), and under Professor Xu Jun psychologist, from Sino American Institute of Applied Psychology, lecturer of Hunan University and Deputy Secretary of China Psychological Union. I’ve continued to receive his advanced trainings on TCM Psychology, EWOT (Emotion-Will Overcoming Therapy, EFT model Hypnotic Rituals as well as Morita model.
I am passionate about enhancing my studies and skills, and I have completed CBT training certified by Oxford College, UK in 2014.
My journey in reproductive and maternal health continued from 2009 - 2020 with my work at Baijia Maternity Group Hospitals, the largest maternal healthcare chain in China.
Over the course of 15 years of my professional career, I have collaborated with Water Birth Organisation, Lamaze International and Octave Institute. I had the opportunity to work closely with outstanding mentors like Michelle Ondeck and Jeanette Crenshaw from Healthy Birth Global / Lamaze International as well as Barbara Harper the founder of Waterbirth Organization.
I have trained medical professionals, doulas, and midwives. I’ve led support groups for pregnant women and their partners. I also curated programs like Prenatal Taiji, Mind, Body & Spirit, Integrative Women’s / Maternal Health and led conferences on Prenatal Perinatal Psychology, Trauma Informed Birth Practices as well as Integrative Wellness and Wellbeing .
This is the foundation from which I began ECOBIRTHERA.
